Automate renaming and moving (CP, SB)
#1
Hi,

I use SABnzdb with CouchPotato and Sickbeard (considering switching to SickRage or Sonarr) on a raspberry pi 2 running raspbian jessie.

Once a file has been downloaded successfully, it is put in SABnzdbs complete folder. From there, I would like to automatically move movies as well as tv shows to their parent folders being indexed by plex media server.

Directories
Completed downloads
/nas/SABnzdb/complete
Movies
/nas/movies/[FIRST LETTER OF MOVIE TITLE]/movie (year).extension
TV shows
/nas/tv/[TV SHOW NAME]/[SEASON]/show name SxxExx episode name.extension

I would like only the actual video files to be renamed and moved; if existent, also the nfo file. However, any other files (readmes, rars, nzb, info, whatever) should automatically be deleted.

CouchPotato has a rename setting. However, I am not quite sure how to automatically move the files after being renamed. Same thing in SickBeard; here it worked, however, it did create extra folders and did not deleted those files I didn't want
(it created folders like this /nas/tv/showname/season/extract folder name/episode.extension). So it used the extract folder (like show 1080p DTS by soandso), which should not happen.

Currently, I manually rename movies once completed and copy them into the folders they belong into. TV shows are being moved without renaming, then being renamed by SickBeard's post processing function. I works fine but I'd like to cut out the extra work. Once files are completed, they should automatically be in the destination folders so plex can index them without user interaction.

Can somebody help me out? Thanks in advance Smile

I believe that there is something wrong with your settings. I use the same setup but I let CP and SB handle renaming and moving. SAB only handles downloading.

SAB and Torrent clients download to "incomplete" folder. Once download is complete they are moved to "completed" folder.  SB and CP watch this folder, rename, and move files (only the relevant ones) to appropriate folders. Kodi picks up the files and indexes them to MySQL libraries shared among kodi boxes. No interaction from me. SB and CP both have options to delete/move left over non-essential files.

Thank you. I checked and think that I've found the error.

CP -> Settings -> Renamer
Rename downloaded movies
to: <my movies folder>
Folder Naming: <first>
File Naming: <thename><cd>.<ext>
Cleanup leftover files after successful rename.
from: <sabnzdb completed folder>

Originally to and from folder where switched, that is probably why it did not work.
Now it should only copy movies (and possible nfo) to appropriate folder and delete any other files.

Hello, thanks for reading with us. As the issue seems to be resolved, I will be closing this thread. If you have more questions, please feel free to open a new one.

Thanks!
